Travel hawali

Aloha! The vacation beckons. Of seaside dreams and soft moonbeams, of flowery nymphs and succulent shrimps, of warm sunshine and translucent wine, of that miniscule paradise divine. Welcome to Travel hawali!

WHAT CAPTAIN COOK DID

A vacation in itself is a wonderful feeling. At first, it doesnt seem to matter just where you have to go to enjoy yourself. The bliss of not having to go to work on Monday morning is a joy unrivalled to many of us. Vacation then means long hours of sleeping and doing just what we want. But we humans are never satisfied or sleep and rest will suffice.

No, we want to have more fun, to go places, to sing, dance and be merry. We want to set our souls free and just be ourselves. So begin our voyage and exploring has never failed to delight. Ask Captain Cook that when, in 1778, he discovered the warm and sunny island of Hawaii which he renamed The Sandwich Islands?, earlier discovered and named ?Hawaii? by the Polynesians between 350 700 A.D, then that would throw more light about that beautiful place Hawaii..

THE HISTORY THAT MADE HAWAII

Further history of this Island reveals that dear Captain Cook was killed in the Big Island dispute in 1799. The Chinese arrive in 1789 and King kamehameha The Great unites all the Islands under one Hawaiian banner. Then came the Spaniards who introduced the Pineapple plantation in 1813 and later Macedamia nut trees in 1848. In 1817, Coffee is planted. Then comes the liberation twist through Prince Liholiho (1819-1824) who gives up the traditional taboo of partaking of food with women. How about that? Religion enters too (it always does) through the Protestants from New England in 1820 and followed closely by Politics in 1840 by the establishing of the Hawaiian constitution, which later allows for commoners to own land known as the law of ?fee simple?. In 1850, Honolulu is designated as a city. Later, in 1898, Hawaii becomes a part of the United States (under protest, of course). Facing its own karma, Hawaii undergoes the bombing of Pearl Harbour, has martial law implemented till 1944 and even witnesses the tsunami that hits Hilo (an island of Hawaii) in 1946 and later Hurricane Iniki causes destruction to the Kauai Island and the western shores of the Oahu island! In 1952, Hawaii welcomes the age of Television and in 1959, the industry of tourism enters Hawaii and continues to flourish from year to year.

THE ISLANDS OF HAWAII

To get an even deeper understanding of the Island of Hawaii, a few relevant facts may be noted such as the Island comprises eight main islands which are (1) Niihau (2) Kauai (3) Maui (4) Molokai (5) Lanai (6) Kahoolawe (7) Oahu and (8) Big Island of Hawaii. Island flowers and colours depict each island. It is considered from east to be west to be a widest state in the United States. There are four counties in Hawaii and each city has a council and a mayor. Surprisingly as beautiful as the sea-view, Hawaii offers a wonderful mountain view as it projects the biggest mountain range in the world. Also startling to know is that volcanoes that erupted under the sea thousands of years ago formed the Islands of Hawaii. To get a climatic feel of this beautiful Island, the highest recorded temperature is 96?F and the lowest is 56?F. Its people consist of Caucasians (Haoles), Japanese-American, Filipino-American and Chinese-American. The Island of Kauai is the fourth largest of the Hawaiian Islands. If you are looking at breeding of livestock, then the Island of Niihau is where you visit.

The Waialua River is one of the rivers where you can navigate around Hawaii. So are the Hanalei River, the Waimea River and the Lumahai River. Located on the Island of Oahu, Honolulu is the largest city in the world and is eleventh on the place of the nation?s largest metropolitan area. This exotic city has more than a hundred renowned beaches. Another fact to note is that Iolani Palace is the only royal palace in the United States. To give more tenure, the world?s largest wind generator is on the Island of Oahu. Many a surfer visits the beaches of Oahu. The Island of Maui has its own attractions such as the Haleakala Crater, the old whaling town of Lahaina and the Kaanapali Beach. This Island also has the world?s highest sea cliffs, the longest waterfall in Hawaii and the largest white sand beach. Beautiful! Island Lanai is more private. Hulope Bay is noted for being one of the best diving spots in the world. And now to Hawaii, the Big Island, is twice the size of all the other Islands.comprising of two of the tallest mountains in the Pacific Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa. The Island also inhabits the worlds biggest telescope and observatories based on science anywhere in the world. So much for interesting facts!

HAWAII THE HEAVEN

But aside these facts of Hawaii, the magic is the languid lifestyle of its people, its beautiful and balmy beaches, its exotic locale in the midst of a vast never-ending Ocean that draws many a voyageur across the seas to sit on the white sandy beaches, enwrapped in a garland of scented flowers, inhaling the freshness of the fruits and nuts and surrendering complacently to the soft lilting music and the dance and the soulful Hawaiian dance with giggling girls and enthusiastic youths, sunburned, tropical, ambrosial and eager!
